AB 1442: Essential Worker Commission.
The proposed legislation establishes the Essential Worker Commission within the Labor and Workforce Development Agency to review and analyze issues affecting essential workers in the state. The commission will investigate workplace safety and health protections and wages and benefits for undocumented workers. Based on its findings, the commission will establish a program to provide essential workers with legal pathways to remain in the state and work lawfully. This program will aim to improve the lives of undocumented workers and provide them with greater job security and stability.
