AB 1592: California Indian Heritage Center support organization.
This bill aims to create a collaborative partnership between California Native American tribes and the Department of Parks and Recreation to support the development of the California Indian Heritage Center. The California Indian Heritage Center Support Organization will be responsible for overseeing the partnership, which will achieve purposes such as cultural preservation, learning, land stewardship, and celebrating the living cultures of California Native American tribes. The organization will be led by a chief executive officer and governed by a board of directors with designated membership. This partnership will facilitate the implementation of reforms and develop expertise, services, and projects not readily available to the state park system.
