AB 1666: Forest management: biomass innovation parks: wood products.

The bill aims to create biomass innovation parks to utilize woody biomass from high fire hazard zones in California. Each park must establish a community benefits program and adhere to specific guidelines. The parks will also contribute to regional wood availability assessments and tracking of forest biomass origins. Additionally, the bill requires the state to publish life-cycle emissions assessments and consider incorporating durable wood products in housing grant programs. The state will also track and authenticate forest biomass origins and deliver a report on the identified parks by December 31, 2027.
