AB 1785: California Uniform Controlled Substances Act: online retailer.
What AB 1785 does, verified August 15, 2026
This bill would expand the California Uniform Controlled Substances Act to include online retailers in its definition of a retail distributor. The law requires retailers to limit sales of ephedrine, pseudoephedrine, norpseudoephedrine, or phenylpropanolamine products to personal use. Online retailers would be subject to the same requirements, including not selling more than three packages of these products in a single transaction. The bill would also state that no reimbursement is required for the costs associated with implementing this law.
