AB 1837: Video imaging of parking violations.
This bill extends the authorization for using video imaging to enforce parking and stopping violations indefinitely. It requires public transit operators to issue warnings for 60 days before issuing notices of violations when using video imaging for new types of violations. The bill also requires operators that haven't had a video imaging system in operation before January 1, 2027, to report to the legislature until January 1, 2031. Additionally, the bill makes legislative findings to demonstrate the interest protected by the limitation and the need for protecting that interest.
