AB 1900: Guaranteed Health Care for All.
This bill aims to create a comprehensive universal single-payer health care system for all residents of the state. It would establish the California Guaranteed Health Care for All Program, or calcare, to provide universal coverage and a health care cost control system. calcare would be a health care service plan subject to existing state regulations and would cover a wide range of medical benefits and services, including those provided by other existing federal and state provisions. The program would be governed by a board of 9 voting members with expertise in health care, and would require the board to seek necessary waivers and approvals to allow for various federal health care payments.
