AB 2169: Social media platforms: artificial intelligence models.
The bill requires social media companies to allow consumers to request a copy of their personal information, including contextual data and social graph, within five business days. A social media company must provide this information in a format that is portable. The company must also implement a transparent, third-party-accessible interoperability interface that allows users to share their social graph or selected parts with other social media platforms or artificial intelligence models. Additionally, the bill authorizes the attorney general to adopt regulations and enforce the bill's provisions through administrative actions.
