The bill aims to make nonsubstantive changes to the provisions of the model state trademark law. Existing law requires the secretary of state to cancel from the register certain registrations if a court finds that a mark has become the generic name for the goods and services for which it is registered. The bill would make similar changes to these provisions, essentially maintaining the same requirements and procedures.
