AB 1845: Student safety: human trafficking.
This bill aims to enhance student safety by requiring postsecondary educational institutions to include information related to human trafficking in their sexual harassment training for employees. The institutions must ensure that all employees complete this training annually and prohibit failure to report human trafficking from resulting in institutional liability. The bill also requires institutions to compile records of human trafficking incidents and those involving violence, hate violence, theft, destruction of property, or alcohol intoxication. Institutions must have written agreements with local law enforcement agencies clarifying operational responsibilities for investigating human trafficking and other crimes on campus.
