AB 2473: Wildfire Forecast and Threat Intelligence Integration Center: forecasted extreme, life-threatening fire weather conditions.
This bill aims to improve wildfire forecasting and threat intelligence in California. The state's central organizing hub, the Wildfire Forecast and Threat Intelligence Integration Center, will proactively coordinate with the National Weather Service and the California State Warning Center to share forecasted extreme, life-threatening fire weather conditions. The center will create a written report analyzing these conditions and disseminate it to the California State Warning Center, which will then share the information with operational area duty officers and public safety answering points. The center will also develop a training program for these officers to interpret the report and educate them on the urgency, information, and potential actions to take upon receipt of a report.
