AB 2481: Beverage containers: recycling: glass: quality incentive payments.
<p>The California Beverage Container Recycling and Litter Reduction Act mandates distributors to pay redemption payments for each beverage container sold or offered for sale. These payments are deposited into the California Beverage Container Recycling Fund, which is continuously appropriated for refund values, administrative fees, and processing payments related to recycling empty containers.</p> <p>Current law appropriates up to $15 million annually from this fund for quality incentive payments for clean glass beverage containers to curbside recycling programs or certified entities.
