AB 2566: Huron Hawk Conservancy.
This bill establishes the Huron Hawk Conservancy within the Natural Resources Agency for the purpose of acquiring and managing public lands, providing recreational and open space, wildlife habitat restoration and protection, and lands for educational uses in the Huron Hawk area. The conservancy will be governed by a board of directors composed of designated members, including local agency representatives. The board will have the power to acquire and manage lands, and the conservancy will create a fund to receive revenue and grants. Local agencies will be required to deposit revenue generated by the conservancy into the fund. The state will reimburse local agencies for costs mandated by the state if the Commission on State Mandates determines that the bill contains such costs.
