AB 259: Open meetings: local agencies: teleconferences.

This bill would extend the use of alternative teleconferencing procedures for local government meetings until further notice. It would remove the January 1, 2026, deadline for these procedures, allowing local agencies to continue using teleconferencing indefinitely. The bill would also make it easier for members to participate in meetings remotely due to emergency circumstances, without needing a request from the legislative body. Additionally, the bill would require the legislative body to make findings to support the extension of these procedures and the limitations on access to public meetings.
