AB 2745: International trade and investment: Global Partnership Advisory Body.

The bill amends existing laws to enhance California's international trade and investment program. It requires the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-BIZ) to establish a Global Partnership Advisory Body, which will advise on strategies and performance metrics for the program. The director must also develop a 5-year strategy in consultation with this body and hold at least one public hearing for review.

The bill authorizes GO-BIZ to create regional trade assistance hubs within California to facilitate international trade and investment through a competitive designation process. Additionally, it increases the amount that can be expended from the Economic Development and Trade Promotion Account to $500,000 and broadens the purposes for which these funds can be used.
