AB 29: Medi-Cal: Adverse Childhood Experiences trauma screenings: providers.

The bill aims to expand Medi-Cal's coverage for adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) trauma screenings. It requires the state department of health care services to include community-based organizations, local health jurisdictions, and doulas enrolled as Medi-Cal providers in the program. These providers will be eligible to receive payments for conducting ACEs trauma screenings, but must make clinical referrals as a condition of payment. The department must file a state plan amendment and seek federal approvals to implement these provisions. The updated Medi-Cal website and ACEs Aware website will also reflect the inclusion of these new providers.
