AB 334: Operators of toll facilities: interoperability programs: vehicle information.
Operators of toll facilities on federal-aid highways engaged in an interstate interoperability program can provide only the required information regarding a vehicle's use of the toll facility, which includes license plate data, transponder data, or transaction data. This information is listed as "required" by national interoperability specifications. If other types of information are needed to implement interstate interoperability, the operator cannot sell or provide that information to any other person or entity. Violators may be subject to fines of $2,500 or more. Transportation agencies participating in interstate interoperability must post national interoperability specifications data types on their internet website.
