AB 341: Oral Health for People with Disabilities Technical Assistance Center Program.

The bill aims to improve dental care services for people with developmental and intellectual disabilities by reducing or eliminating the need for sedation and general anesthesia. A public or private dental school or college will be contracted to administer the program, with a focus on partnering with a public California dental school or college. The contracted school or partnership will work with regional centers to engage 21 centers in the program, providing practical experience, training, and support. The program will collect and analyze data, and the department will submit annual reports to the legislature. Regional centers will be responsible for identifying consumers who can benefit from the program and establishing vendor agreements with oral health professionals.
