AB 511: Radiologist assistants.
<p>This bill would prohibit individuals from holding themselves out as radiologist assistants unless they meet certain requirements, including passing a radiologist assistant examination and maintaining current registration with prescribed entities.</p> <p>A radiologist assistant would be required to work under the supervision of a radiologist and would not be allowed to function independently of a supervising radiologist.</p> <p>They would be authorized to communicate and document initial clinical and imaging observations or procedures only to a radiologist for the radiologist's use.</p> <p>A supervising radiologist would be able to delegate tasks or services to a radiologist assistant, as determined by the assistant's competence, including those tasks usually performed by a radiologist.</p> <p>The bill would also provide that a violation of its provisions would not constitute a misdem…
