The bill aims to make nonsubstantive changes to the provision relating to the submission of local coastal programs. This will update the procedures for local governments to submit and process these programs. The California Coastal Act of 1976 establishes the California Coastal Commission, which prescribes procedures for local coastal programs. These programs regulate development in the coastal zone in jurisdictions with certified local coastal programs.
