AB 668: Alcoholic beverage control: large outdoor events: drink spiking.
This bill aims to regulate large outdoor events where alcoholic beverages are sold. Starting July 1, 2026, and until January 1, 2029, it requires individuals and businesses hosting these events to offer drink spiking prevention measures to customers. These measures include providing testing devices for customers to check for spiked drinks and posting a notice about the available testing. Additionally, if a customer reports a potential drink spiking incident, the business must contact law enforcement or emergency services immediately. The bill also clarifies that businesses must follow the manufacturer's instructions for testing devices and will not be held liable for any defects or inaccuracies.
