This bill establishes the Huron Hawk Conservancy within the Natural Resources Agency to acquire and manage public lands in the Huron Hawk area. The conservancy will be governed by a board of directors composed of designated members, including local agency representatives. The board will have powers to acquire and manage lands, provide recreational and educational opportunities, and restore wildlife habitats. The conservancy will have a fund to receive contributions from member agencies, public agencies, private entities, and individuals. Reimbursement for mandated costs will be made to local agencies if the Commission on State Mandates determines that the bill contains such costs.
