AB 729: Public utilities: climate credits.
This bill aims to amend the Public Utilities Code to provide climate credits to customers of public utilities. It would require that climate credits be provided to residential and small business customers on their bills for specific months, and to emissions-intensive trade-exposed customers for a different month. The credits would be provided by electrical corporations for the months of August and September, and by gas corporations for the month of February. The bill would also ensure that the credits are provided unless otherwise directed by the Public Utilities Commission.
