AB 789: Political Reform Act of 1974: security expenses.

The bill amends the Political Reform Act of 1974 to allow a candidate or elected officer to use campaign funds to pay for security expenses without a monetary cap until January 1, 2029. After that date, the cap is reinstated at $10,000 per year. The bill also expands the exemption for payments to relatives, including the spouse, children, parents, grandparents, and siblings of a candidate or elected officer, from the definition of "security expenses".
