AB 839: California Environmental Quality Act: expedited judicial review: sustainable aviation fuel projects.
This bill aims to provide streamlining benefits to sustainable aviation fuel projects in California. It authorizes the governor to certify up to 3 projects meeting certain requirements as infrastructure projects, thereby reducing the environmental review process. The certification would allow for concurrent preparation of the record of proceedings and resolution of challenges within 270 days. The bill would also expand the duties of lead agencies as they relate to infrastructure projects and sustainable aviation fuel projects. The California Constitution requires reimbursement for certain state-mandated local programs, but this bill specifies that no reimbursement is required for this act.
