AB 890: Nonminor dependents: county of residence.
This bill aims to amend certain sections of the welfare and institutions code to provide more flexibility for nonminor dependents. It would allow a nonminor dependent to change their county of residence to another county where they are living, as long as they request the transfer of jurisdiction and the court finds it in the best interest of the nonminor dependent. The court must issue an order to transfer jurisdiction within 30 court days of the request, and the new county will have jurisdiction over the nonminor dependent within 10 calendar days of the order.
