the bill would prohibit a person from allowing any member of the public to come into direct contact with a wild animal, with certain exceptions. if a person violates this provision, they would be subject to a civil penalty for each violation. the restricted species permit for the wild animal would be subject to immediate suspension or revocation by the department of fish and wildlife. a person whose permit is suspended or revoked could appeal the decision to the commission within 30 days. the provisions of the bill are designed to ensure the welfare of wild animals and the safety of the public.
