This bill aims to revise the state's veterans' preference provisions. It would allow active duty service members to receive veterans' credits for passing entrance exams, in addition to veterans, widows/widowers, and spouses of 100% disabled veterans. Employers would be authorized to grant preference in hiring and promotion to the eligible spouses of active duty service members, veterans, and spouses of 100% disabled veterans. The bill also makes related changes to these provisions.
