AB 996: Public Resources: sea level rise plans.

This bill amends existing law to require local governments within the coastal zone to develop a sea level rise plan by January 1, 2034, as part of their local coastal program. The plan must include specified required content. When approving a local coastal plan, the applicable commission can deem existing sea level rise information or plans prepared by a local government to satisfy the content requirements. Local governments are encouraged to consult with the California Coastal Commission regarding sea level rise plans in the preparation of their local coastal program by January 1, 2029.
