The bill aims to enhance the reporting of employment and earning data by employers to the state's employment development department. Starting July 1, 2027, employers with 10 or more employees will be required to report information on total monthly wage, industry, occupation, worker type, and hours worked for each employee. The department will work with the California State Automated Welfare System (CALSAWS) to develop and implement a system change to verify hours worked for public benefits. The department will also use existing federal and state grant funds to implement the bill's provisions.
