<p>The bill amends California's government code section regarding land use planning. It requires cities and counties to update their safety elements in general plans starting January 1, 2028, to include information on insurance availability for existing and planned uses within very high fire hazard severity zones and state responsibility areas. Additionally, the office of land use and climate innovation must update a guidance document by July 1, 2027, to provide sources of information that local governments can use to meet this requirement.</p>
