<p>The bill revises the responsibilities of the California Conservation Corps (CCC) director and updates project requirements to focus on wildfire prevention and forest resiliency. It also requires CCC projects to provide opportunities for education to California Native American tribes and corps members.</p> <p>It authorizes the CCC to contract with conservation corps established by Native American tribes, in addition to existing community corps contracts. The bill removes reporting requirements related to degrees received by corpsmembers but mandates detailed postsecondary enrollment data disaggregated by institution type.</p> <p>The legislation also allows CCC service to count towards public employees' retirement benefits if members make required contributions. Additionally, it exempts corpsmembers from wage and hour regulations typically applicable to other occupations.</p>
