SB 1269: Chiropractors: animal chiropractic practitioners.
This bill establishes a new profession for chiropractors to practice animal chiropractic care. To become registered, chiropractors must hold a certification from a specified credentialing organization. They must also register their premises with the state board of chiropractic examiners and comply with regulations related to chiropractic practice. Chiropractors practicing animal chiropractic care must be under the direct supervision of a licensed veterinarian. The bill requires the state board to establish fees for registering animal chiropractic premises and to adopt regulations for the practice of animal chiropractic care. The bill makes an animal chiropractic practitioner exempt from the veterinary medicine practice act and requires the state board to consult with the veterinary medical board when adopting regulations.
