SB 993: Board of Behavioral Sciences: licensees: notices.
<p>This bill amends the existing law governing marriage and family therapists to allow employing entities or agencies to decide whether to disclose information about the therapist and their license in a written notice to clients.</p> <p>The existing law requires therapists to provide clients with a written notice stating that the board receives and responds to complaints about their services.</p> <p>The bill grants the employing entity or agency discretion to withhold or disclose certain information about the therapist and their license if they have individual safety concerns and meet specified requirements.</p>
