SB 128: Transportation.
This bill makes several changes to California's transportation laws. The Department of Transportation will submit revised budget estimates to the Department of Finance, which can increase or decrease funding for the department's capital outlay support program. The Department of Motor Vehicles will reimplement a $1 transaction fee for electronic programs that process vehicle registration and titling transactions. The bill also updates driver's license requirements, including the operation of vehicles towing trailers. The Department of Motor Vehicles will enter into a memorandum of understanding with the National Marrow Donor Program to determine when applicants must enroll in the program.
