SB 1297: Regional wildfire partnerships.
<p>The bill revises and expands California's Regional Forest and Fire Capacity Program by allowing regional entities to collaborate with insurance companies, utilities, and other private and public organizations to develop strategies for fire-resistant homes, businesses, and public buildings. It authorizes the formation of regional wildfire partnerships between public entities and specified private partners or joint powers authorities to support these strategies.</p> <p>The bill requires annual reporting by these partnerships to the Department of Conservation, which must publish these reports online.
