What SB 136 does, verified December 13, 2025

The bill repeals certain provisions related to court operations and juror diversity. It revises references to the administrative office of the courts to the judicial council and requires the judicial council to annually report on the operations of each trial court, including operational and budgetary metrics. The bill also authorizes the judicial council to sell additional courthouses and delete requirements for collecting and publishing statistics on court compliance with standards of timely disposition. Additionally, the bill appropriates $4,690,000 to the state court facilities construction fund for a one-time backfill. The bill takes effect immediately.
