SB 313: Vital records: birth certificates.
What SB 313 does, verified December 7, 2025
This bill would amend the health and safety code to change the way birth certificates are issued. Starting July 1, 2027, the birthplace of each parent would be included on the certificate of live birth, in addition to the birthplace of the child. This information would be kept confidential. The bill would also make legislative findings to demonstrate the need for this change.
