On or before July 1, 2027, the state departments of managed health care, insurance, and health care services will develop and adopt standards for the geographic accessibility of perinatal units. The bill also requires the departments to consult with stakeholders to develop these standards. The provisions of the bill will become inoperative on July 1, 2033, and will be repealed on January 1, 2034.
