SB 351: Health facilities.

California · Senate · 2025–2026 Regular Session · last verified December 8, 2025

What SB 351 does, verified December 8, 2025

The bill prohibits private equity groups or hedge funds from interfering with the professional judgment of physicians and dentists in making health care decisions. It restricts these groups from entering into contracts that enable them to influence coding and billing procedures. The bill also prevents contracts from including clauses that bar providers from competing with the practice after termination or resignation, or from commenting on the practice's quality of care or revenue strategies. The Attorney General is entitled to injunctive relief and attorney's fees in cases of non-compliance. The bill makes its provisions severable, allowing for individual parts to remain in effect even if others are declared invalid.
