SB 409: Public contracts: county-owned buildings.

This bill amends a section of the public contract code to provide exemptions for certain alteration or repair work on county-owned buildings. Counties with a population of 9 million or more are exempt from requiring repairs exceeding a specified amount to be done by contract if the cost is under $125,000. The exemption applies to alteration or repair work, not just repairs. The bill also makes legislative findings and declarations regarding the need for a special statute for the county of Los Angeles.
