SB 412: Home care aides.
This bill amends the existing law regarding home care services to require home care organizations to ensure their affiliated home care aides complete training related to the special care needs of clients with dementia prior to providing home care and annually thereafter. The training requirements would take effect on January 1, 2027. This expansion would create new crimes by adding to the existing requirements for home care organizations, making the state responsible for reimbursing local agencies and school districts for the costs of implementing this new requirement.
