SB 512: District elections: initiatives.

This bill allows voters in certain districts to impose a retail transactions and use tax by initiative measure. The tax rate cannot exceed the maximum authorized rate set by the governing body of the district. The initiative measure must include all spending limitations and accountability standards applicable to taxes imposed by the governing body. The bill also requires reimbursement for any state-mandated costs incurred by county elections officials.
