The bill would allow counties to extend the time period to transfer base year values for properties damaged or destroyed by a disaster from 5 years to 3 years. This would apply to counties declared a state of emergency or disaster between January 1, 2025, and January 1, 2030. The bill would take effect immediately as a tax levy and would not provide reimbursement to local agencies for lost property tax revenues.
