SB 731: Trash receptacles and storage containers: reflective markings.

The bill aims to amend existing laws related to public safety. Currently, a trash receptacle or storage container over 3 feet and 4 feet tall must be marked with a reflector on each side and have 8 strips of fluorescent yellow reflective tape on specific locations. The bill would exempt containers with reflectors applied before January 1, 2025, from the additional reflective tape requirement and eliminate the requirement for the reflectors to be made of certain high-performance retroreflective sheeting. Additionally, non-exempt containers must have reflective tape made of specified high-performance retroreflective sheeting, and be fluorescent yellow, red, white, or alternating red and white in color.
