What SB 800 does, verified December 13, 2025

This bill requires the department of transportation to incorporate suicide deterrent considerations into the updates of applicable guidance documents, starting on or before July 1, 2028. The department will consult with the state department of public health and collaborate with impacted local governments in this process. This is intended to prevent objects from being dropped or thrown onto vehicles passing underneath state freeway overpasses.
