What A 3573 does, verified January 8, 2026
The bill proposes to amend the Penal Law to designate crimes of manslaughter that result in the death of a child as class A-1 felonies. Currently, manslaughter in the first degree is a class B felony, but the bill would make it a class A-1 felony if the defendant causes the death of a child.
