What A 4887 does, verified January 8, 2026

The proposed law aims to provide greater transparency and protection for lessees of rental vehicles. It requires lease agreements to itemize and detail all costs that must be paid by the lessee upon termination of the lease. This change will help lessees understand their obligations and make informed decisions. The law will take effect thirty days after its passage, and a specific provision will ensure that the new requirement remains in effect even if the original section it replaces expires.
