What A 7096 does, verified January 10, 2026

The proposed legislation aims to provide health and welfare services to children attending non-public schools outside of their district. The law requires school districts to contract with another district to provide these services, with the payment amount determined by the districts involved. The contract must be in writing and submitted for approval to the superintendent of schools. The law applies to children residing in one district who attend a non-public school in another district. The services provided may include medical, dental, and vision care, as well as administrative tasks. The law overrides any provisions inconsistent with the provision of health and welfare services. The law takes effect on the first of September next following the date of its enactment.
