The bill aims to establish a tax credit for recycling bivalve mollusk shells, specifically for their use in oyster reef restoration. A taxpayer will be allowed a credit, computed as ten cents multiplied by the number of pounds of shells certified by the state department of environmental conservation. The credit amount will be limited to one thousand dollars. To qualify for the credit, the shells must be donated to an entity or organization permitted by the department to reuse them for beneficial oyster reef restoration purposes.
