What S 9344 does, verified March 8, 2026
The bill aims to protect designated grassland bird conservation centers in New York. These centers, including locations in Jefferson and Saint Lawrence counties, are to be exempt from major renewable energy and electric transmission facility siting permits. The changes take effect immediately, but will be repealed along with the existing sections of the law that are being amended.
